1. Travel Insurance

All guests travelling to Manyoni Ridge Safari Lodge are required to arrange comprehensive travel insurance as soon as their booking is confirmed.

It is the guest’s responsibility to confirm that their policy provides sufficient cover, including but not limited to trip cancellation or shortening, medical treatment, emergency medical evacuation, hospital stays, illness or injury, personal liability, stolen or lost belongings, travel delays, and return transport home.

Manyoni Ridge Safari Lodge cannot be held liable for any expenses, losses, or claims that result from situations typically covered under a travel insurance policy.

2. Safety & Assumption of Risk

Experiencing wildlife in its own habitat is one of the defining rewards of a safari, and guests recognise that taking part in safari activities and entering protected wilderness areas carries an inherent element of risk.

Manyoni Ridge Safari Lodge and its staff treat guest safety and wellbeing as a top priority and take every reasonable precaution accordingly. Even so, neither the Lodge nor its owners, directors, staff or representatives can be held responsible for injury, illness, death, loss, damage, theft, delays, cancellations, or itinerary changes that result from factors outside its reasonable control or from taking part in safari activities.

Should operational, safety or environmental factors require it, Manyoni Ridge Safari Lodge reserves the right to amend, suspend or cancel any activity or itinerary.

3. Guest Registration & Indemnity

Prior to arrival or during check-in, all guests are required to complete and sign the Guest Registration & Indemnity Form. In accordance with South African hospitality regulations, the Lodge may request a copy of each guest’s valid passport or identification document upon arrival.

4. Force Majeure

Manyoni Ridge Safari Lodge will not be held responsible for delays, changes, cancellations or an inability to meet its obligations when these result from events outside its reasonable control. This includes, among others, acts of God, natural disasters, flooding, fires, severe weather, epidemics or pandemics, war, terrorism, civil unrest, strikes, government-imposed restrictions, or any other force majeure event.

If a reservation is impacted by such circumstances, the Lodge reserves the right to alter or cancel the booking. Where appropriate, it will make reasonable efforts to issue a suitable refund, minus any costs it has already incurred and cannot recover.

5. Travel Requirements

Before departing, guests should check with their travel advisor, the relevant embassy or consulate for up-to-date information on visa requirements, passport validity, regulations concerning travelling with children, health prerequisites and any travel advisories in effect.

Each traveller is responsible for making sure all documentation and health requirements needed for entry into South Africa are properly met. Manyoni Ridge Safari Lodge cannot be held liable if a guest is refused boarding, denied entry into South Africa, or prevented from continuing their journey due to missing documentation or non-compliance with applicable travel requirements.

6. Medical Advisory

Manyoni Ridge Safari Lodge is located in an area with a low malaria risk. Before travelling, guests are encouraged to speak with their doctor or a travel health clinic about recommended vaccinations and whether anti-malarial medication may be advisable.

7. Reservations

To secure your reservation, the following payment terms apply:

Individual Reservations

• A 30% deposit is required to confirm your reservation
• The remaining balance is payable 60 days prior to arrival

Group Reservations (3 Rooms or More)

• A 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your reservation
• The remaining balance is payable 90 days prior to arrival

Exclusive-Use Reservations

• A 30% non-refundable deposit to confirm your reservation
• The remaining balance is payable 120 days prior to arrival, subject to management approval

Last Minute Bookings

• Reservations made within 60 days of arrival require full pre-payment at the time of booking to secure the reservation

8. Reservations & Guest Communications

Any enquiries, changes, confirmations, payments or cancellations relating to a reservation must be submitted in writing to the Reservations Department at reservations@manyoniridge.com.

9. Check-in & Check-out

• Check-in: Available from 14:00 on the day of arrival
• Check-out: By 10:00 on the day of departure

Requests for early check-in or late check-out remain entirely at the discretion of Management.

10. Additional Payment Information

All bank charges and transfer fees are the responsibility of the guest or booking agent.

A 3% administration fee applies to:

• Commissionable bookings paid by credit card
• All American Express (Amex) credit card transactions

• Any incidental charges or extras incurred during your stay must be settled directly with the lodge prior to departure
• Provisional reservations will be held for 7 days pending receipt of the required deposit. Should payment not be received within this period, the reservation will automatically be released without further notice

11. Cancellation Policy

Individual Reservations

The following cancellation terms apply to confirmed reservations:

• Date changes, partial cancellations, or reductions in rooms, guests or nights – forfeiture of the 30% deposit
• 59–31 days prior to arrival – 50% of the total reservation value
• 30–0 days prior to arrival – 100% of the total reservation value

Manyoni Ridge Safari Lodge reserves the right to cancel any reservation should full payment not be received by the applicable payment due date.

Group Cancellation Policy (3 Rooms or More)

The following cancellation terms apply to all confirmed group reservations:

• Date changes, partial cancellations, or reductions in rooms, guests or nights – forfeiture of the 30% non-refundable deposit
• 90–60 days prior to arrival – 50% of the total reservation value
• 59–0 days prior to arrival – 100% of the total reservation value

Manyoni Ridge Safari Lodge reserves the right to cancel any reservation should payment not be received in accordance with the agreed payment schedule.

Exclusive-Use Reservations

Exclusive-use bookings are subject to bespoke payment and cancellation terms, which will be confirmed in writing at the time of reservation.

12. Our Commitment

Manyoni Ridge Safari Lodge takes pride in offering an intimate, exclusive safari experience. Because we operate as a boutique lodge with a limited number of rooms and a large share of exclusive-use and single-party bookings, late cancellations can have a considerable financial impact. Our booking and cancellation terms are structured with this in mind — to protect the lodge’s long-term sustainability while remaining fair to guests and travel partners alike.

13. Safari Game Drives

Game drives are conducted in shared open safari vehicles.

For safety reasons, participation by children under the age of 6 is subject to the discretion of Lodge Management and may be dependent on the nature of the safari activity and the comfort of fellow guests.

14. Guided Walking Safaris

Guided walking safaris are available exclusively to guests aged 16 years and older. Participation is subject to guide assessment, prevailing safety conditions and operational considerations.

15. Dietary Requirements, Medical Information & Special Occasions

To help us deliver the best possible personalised experience, guests are asked to inform our Reservations Department of any dietary needs, food allergies, medical conditions, mobility requirements or special occasions at least 14 days before arrival.

Manyoni Ridge Safari Lodge is able to cater for most medically necessary dietary requirements. Every effort will be made to accommodate dietary preferences based on religion or lifestyle, though these cannot be guaranteed.
